Steve Bardsley

Steve's the King of the 45's in the Melbourne Soul Club DJ Team.

He's been putting vinyl records on turntables for as long as Tony Blackburn and longer than Diddy David Hamilton. The good thing about Steve is he knows a good tune when he hears it - which is more than David Hamilton ever did.

His enthusiasm for Soul music is only surpassed by his love of English Football - the proper game (for any Aussie readers).

Steve's from the UK originally from t' north, and 'as spent many beer and dance filled weekends travelling in some very dodgy motors to events, dancing away the all-nighter hours. Steve has had a proper history in Soul music and Northern Soul attending all the classic clubs in the UK - Wigan Casino, Twisted Wheel and more - before seeing sense and moving to Australia in 1862.

HISTORY
Emigrated to Australia from Droylsden, Manchester in 1975 where since 1969 frequented Soul venues including the Twisted Wheel, Sounds, The Pendulum, The Torch, The Mecca (Blackpool), The Mecca (Sale), Wigan Casino, Rafters, Belle Vue.

Spyder Turner, Timmy Thomas, Tony Galla, Eugene Thomas (Epitome of Sound), Frankie Gearing (The Steinways), Jackie Gore, Edwin Starr, Junior Walker, Marv Johnson, The Temptations, Percy Sledge.

RECORDS
A Motown and Northern Soul lover with a collection of around 6000, 45RPM singles.
